Nearly a decade ago, Spring Creek Church launched the “Concerts On The Creek” series, opening its acoustically-excellent sanctuary to the community for Saturday concerts. The series has become a Stateline favorite, hosting regional as well as internationally touring artists. At 10:30am on Sunday February 5th, the church offers a Sunday morning service in which Ron Holm, celebrated area musician and Trinadora Music member, brings his ‘Tribute to Spirituals’ program to the chancel. In addition to performing beloved spirituals, Ron will explain the songs’ origins and explore ways in which music of the plantation is still with us during the course of the service. The concert will integrate with the morning worship order, and the event is open to the public. There is no admission charge; a free-will offering will occur, and proceeds will be given to the Booker Washington African American Arts Center.
